Why policy wording matters
Pet insurance documents can be difficult to understand.
Policy wording often explains these things using insurance terminology that many pet owners have never seen before.
Willow helps translate policy wording into plain English.
Try it β let Willow explain your policy wording
Paste wording from your policy, renewal or claim letter β or upload a PDF. Willow will explain it in plain English.
Your privacy: Files are processed in your browser to extract text only β the PDF itself is never uploaded or stored. The extracted text is sent to Willow, used to generate the explanation, and not saved to any database or log.
What Willow can help explain

Pre-existing Conditions
What your policy considers pre-existing and how it affects claims.
Excesses

Co-payments
Percentage of costs you may need to pay on top of the fixed excess.
Treatment Limits
Annual or lifetime caps on how much can be claimed for specific conditions.
Dental Cover

Behavioural Treatment
Whether behavioural therapy and referrals are covered and under what conditions.
Renewals
How your cover may change at renewal and what terms may be updated.
Exclusions
Specific conditions, treatments or circumstances your policy does not cover.
Hidden Limits
Sub-limits buried in policy wording that could reduce expected payouts.
Example
See how Willow turns complicated policy wording into something useful.
Example text only. Not taken from a real policy.
You pay the first Β£125 for each new condition. After that, you also pay 20% of whatever the vet charges. Your insurer pays the rest. If you have lifetime cover, your annual limit resets every year. If not, once the pot runs out, that condition is no longer covered.
- You pay the excess and co-payment on every claim for the same condition.
- Not all policies reset the limit annually β check whether yours is lifetime cover.
- Some conditions may be excluded if they appear before the waiting period ends.
